FORT PAYNE, Ala. (WHNT)- Monday the Little River inside Little River Canyon set a record flow level with more than 11,000 cubic feet of water per second.   Tuesday one kayaker from Georgia decided to take advantage of the flow.

Jessica Childress from Atlanta captured cell phone video of Andrew Copeland of LaFayette, Georgia, going over the falls.

"I thought he was insane," she told us.  "And, I also thought it was cool seeing him go over the falls."

Copeland says he actually went over the falls twice.

"It's been awhile since I've been in my boat," he said.  "I just got home.  And I had to get on the water somewhere."

Park Service officials tell us that it is legal to go over the falls, but it's known as a suicide run.

"I'm always scared," Copeland said.  "But you've just got to get over it.  Just do it."
