ARAB, Ala. (WHNT)– A 13-year-old Arab Junior High School student died Sunday in a crash near Douglasville, Georgia.

Taigen Black died in the crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 20 just outside of Atlanta.  Five others were hurt in the wreck, including her grandparents.

“Taigen was a wonderful child,” said her principal John Ingram.  “She had a great work ethic.  She was a great classmate.  A great teammate.  Honor roll.   Just an all around wonderful child.”

Ingram says many of the 7th grader’s classmates had not heard the news of her death until they arrived at school Monday morning.

“It’s devastating for the students, the teachers, for everyone involved.  We’ve had counselors available for our students.  We’ve met with several this morning.  The story was fresh.  Not everyone knew the story until this morning.”

Douglasville Police told WSB-TV in Atlanta the vehicle in which Black was a passenger crossed over several lanes and collided with another vehicle.
