GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Two men remain in Huntsville Hospital after a boating accident Saturday on Lake Guntersville.  One of them suffered a head injury and underwent surgery.

Alabama Marine Police identified the men as David McKinney, 47, of Boaz and Robert Quick, 61, of Locust Fork.  Both were first taken to Marshall Medical Center North and then transferred to Huntsville.  McKinney is said to have suffered a blow to the head during the crash.

Thomas Bobo with the Alabama Marine Police says McKinney was in one boat and Quick in another.   The two boats collided near Warrenton.   A third man was in the boat with Quick but he was treated on the scene.

Bobo says the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

WHNT News 19 would like to thank Jeremy Wray for his photos of the scene.  Wray was not involved in the boating accident.
