MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) -- A 12-year-old Marshall County girl is working to make her dream to be a singer a reality, and has signed a development deal with a management agency to help her get there.

There's an office in Albertville that isn't quite open just yet. The office is part of a management agency called 1015 Entertainment. Thursday morning though, a young girl sits inside.

Her name is Lauren Ward, and she's a sixth grader. She's there to work on a dream that goes beyond the classroom.

You see, Lauren has been singing for quite a while. "Since I was three," Lauren says.

She has a dream to sing somewhere famous, and when you have dreams that big you have to do something about it. So, this 12-year-old from Marshall County did just that.

"I just signed a record label and I am working on my new song," Lauren says.

Lauren signed an artist development deal with the company and is working with producer and manager Tony Griffith. 1015 Entertainment has an office in Nashville, and Griffith is working to get the Albertville division up and running. "Lauren's mom got in touch with us," Griffith says, "She came in, she sang for me, we were very impressed with what she could do. Things we really don't see from a child her age."

Griffith says Lauren is working on her first single, which is released on her Facebook page.

Lauren's single can be bought by following this link.

She's also asking the community for support to help make her dreams a reality.

So for now, this sixth grader will continue on the path she's on, and Griffith says right now, that's a fast track.
