HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The intelligence of the Rocket City’s professional innovators meet the creative minds of our youth through collaborating on project in the Start It Up Youth Program. The program is a collaborative effort by Huntsville City Schools and BizTech.
The 8- week after school program begins on September 21 and is geared for teenagers ages 13-18. BizTech’s Lance Gilbreath tells us the students will pair up with mentors who will help them take their ideas and creativity about entrepreneurship and innovation and make a “real world” plan. Both mentors and students will go to classes and be a part of teams.
The kids will learn how to put together a marketing plan, a business plan, financial plan, prototypes and learn all of the different aspects of running your own business.
To get involved, students should discuss their interest with their teachers. For parents, they can find more information on the Start It Up Youth website.
