HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – This year marks the 100th anniversary of the first Mother’s Day proclamation made by President Woodrow Wilson.
Here in the Tennessee Valley many families are gathering to celebrate the one person this day was made for.
Today, the Robert Harrison Wellness and Advocacy Center celebrated mothers with a Mother’s Day brunch.
The Robert Harrison Wellness and Advocacy Center is located at 6165 Pulaski Pike.
The Mother’s Day brunch started at 10 a.m and lasted till 4:00 p.m.
“It was to celebrate the mothers, not only those that are here with us today, but also those that were unable to come,” said Brenda Gurley, the Center’s director.
With food, laughter and fun, people gathered to celebrate the mothers in their lives. Whether they are biological, adoptive, or foster, mothers play a big role in our lives.
From all of us at WHNT News 19 we wish all the mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.
