HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) -- A mother's quest for answers in her son's death two years ago has filed a lawsuit against Huntsville Hospital for the role she says they played in "burying the truth."

Dionne Jackson's son Tyrell Spencer collapsed while playing basketball at the Showers Center back in 2010. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital but could not be revived. According to Jackson, the hospital failed to perform an autopsy despite her request and paperwork she says proves they mistakenly forgot to follow through with the autopsy.

Spencer was buried two years ago but now his mother is going to have his body exhumed and an autopsy preformed to find out what caused his death.

Her attorney filed paperwork Friday asking for unknown damages from the hospital for failing to perform the autopsy.

"Now I have to face the agony of not only burying my child once but twice," Jackson said.

Huntsville Hospital did not return calls for comment for this report.
