MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – An attorney for Hammad Memon has filed a motion requesting the teen undergo a mental examination.
Attorney James W. Parkman filed the motion with the Madison County Circuit Court on Friday, December 7.
Memon remains in custody at the Madison County Jail, awaiting his trial next year. He is charged in the February 2010 shooting at Discovery Middle School in Madison that killed classmate Todd Brown.
The motion asks for the judge to order the jail to allow a defense expert to conduct an examination on Memon.
