UNION GROVE, Ala. (WHNT)– Union Grove Road stretches from Alabama Highway 69 in Scant City to U.S. Highway 231 in Morgan City.   It’s mostly pasture land and houses, but it’s still the busiest stretch of road in the county.

Hundreds of people travel the road everyday making their way from Guntersville and Albertville to Huntsville.  While it gets more traffic than some state road, it doesn’t get the upkeep those highways do.

Marshall County doesn’t have the money to keep the road repaired in comparison to the amount it’s used.  However, last fall Governor Robert Bentley released funds that the county will use to resurface the road from one end to the other.

Work from Reed Contracting is set to start on July 8th.   It will likely last from six to eight weeks.
