HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A search is underway for the person responsible for a late-shooting in Huntsville that left one man with life-threatening injuries.

Police responded to the 600 block of Eastbrook Drive just after 10 p.m.  Officers arrived to find a 20-year-old man inside the home with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed the man to Huntsville Hospital.

Witnesses say a man broke into the home and then several shots were fired.  We’re told one of those bullets struck the victim.  Police put up crime scene tape and blocked off Eastbrook Drive for several hours while they collected evidence.  Police brought in a K-9 to search for the shooter.  However, that trail ended near Highway 72 and Academy Drive.
