HARTSELLE, Ala. – A death investigation is underway in Hartselle after a man was found dead in a home Friday night, according to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.
Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn identified the man as 41-year-old Anthony Sheppard. Chunn said Sheppard was found with a gunshot wound.
Authorities said police were called to conduct a welfare check at a home on Dawson Street when Sheppard’s body was found.
His body was taken to the state forensics lab for autopsy.
The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Hartselle Police Department responded to the scene, along with the Morgan County Coroner, District Attorney, and Decatur Crime Scene Investigation.
