HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — One person is dead after a major crash on Memorial Parkway late Friday night.

The victim was identified as Donna Eaves, 38, by Madison County Coroner Tyler Berryhill.

Eaves cause of death was blunt force injuries sustained in the collision, according to Berryhill.

Huntsville Police say the incident happened around 10:45 p.m. when one vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Memorial Parkway. The driver of that vehicle, Eaves, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the other vehicle had three occupants with two adults extricated by Huntsville Fire and Rescue and transported to Huntsville Hospital in serious condition. A child under five was also in this vehicle but did not appear to have any physical injuries, according to police.

The northbound lanes of Memorial Parkway were closed for several hours but reopened early Saturday morning.
