ARDMORE, Ala. (WHNT) — Several agencies in Madison and Limestone Counties responded to a structure fire on Old Railroad Bed Road Sunday.

According to Toney Volunteer Fire and Rescue (TVFR), crews responded to a structure fire on Old Railroad Bed Road in Ardmore around 3 p.m. Sunday.

HEMSI, Madison County Sheriff’s Office and volunteer fire departments from Bobo and Harvest also responded.

Crews reported moderate to heavy smoke coming from a residential, metal building with two occupied apartments attached.

Authorities said the fire was under control within 30 minutes of arriving and completely extinguished shortly after.

A spokesman with TVFR said that everyone inside the apartment was able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family.
