Madison Police search for man involved in overnight shooting

MADISON, Ala. – Madison Police are looking for a man who robbed and shot another man early Monday morning. The shooting happened just after midnight at a home at the corner of Pension Row and Front Street.

When police arrived, they found a male victim in a yard on Morning Side Drive. The victim reported walking from a motel on Madison Boulevard to a home off Mill Road. The victim said the suspect walked toward him near Palmer Road and Pension Row and demanded his wallet, then shot at him, striking him in the leg. The victim said the man ran south, and he collapsed in a yard.

HEMSI treated the man and transported him to Huntsville Hospital. They say he should be okay.

Madison Police searched for the robber, but didn’t find anyone. Detectives have talked with people in the area, and ask anyone from Kyser Boulevard to Palmer Road who may have witnessed suspicious activity to call Madison Police at (256) 722-7190 (24 hours) or (256) 772-5614 during the day.
