MADISON, Ala. – According to a Facebook post made late Wednesday morning, Madison Fire and Rescue helped Madison City Schools make sure harnesses were properly installed in some of the district’s buses.

Madison County Schools spokesman John Peck said the district purchased the harnesses two years ago with a grant, and they were used last year for multiple field trips.

Peck further stated he thought the fire department stepped up to help because several buses were needed for the Pre-K field trip to Tate Farms.

The harnesses don’t stay in buses permanently, because according to Peck, Pre-K students don’t ride buses every day.

The harnesses are only used for Pre-K trips.
