DECATUR, Ala. – Officials from the City of Decatur, Decatur-Morgan Hospital, and the Alabama Department of Public Health gave an update on COVID-19 in Morgan County.
Decatur City Council President Jacob Ladner gave the COVID-19 numbers for Morgan County. He said the positive cases jumped 944 this week, totaling 18,155 cases. ADPH data puts Morgan County at a 22.5% positivity rate.
Around 42,210 people have completed a COVID-19 vaccine series in the county.
Decatur Morgan Hospital President Kelly Powers says they currently have a total of 74 inpatients that are COVID-19 positive. 84% of those patients are unvaccinated. 10 of those patients are in ICU on ventilators and 9 of the 10 ICU patients are unvaccinated.
