Limestone County church destroyed by fire

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. – A church in Limestone County caught fire Friday evening.

First responders were called to Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Elkmont. Piney Chapel VFD, Ardmore VFD, Oak Grove-Thach VFD, and Elkmont VFD were all on the scene.

Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church Pastor Jeremy Hill spoke with WHNT News 19. He said, “There is a lot of things you can look at and be thankful for in times like this.” Hill continued and said, “The good thing is no one was hurt, anything that was burnt can be replaced, and we are thankful for that.”

Pastor Hill said that the fire destroyed the sanctuary, the bathrooms, and the fellowship hall.

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic and asked that drivers avoid the area.
