LEEDS, Ala. (AP) — Alabama authorities are searching for relatives of a man whose skeletal remains were found in a home nearly two weeks ago. reports the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 55-year-old Roger Perkins.

Perkins was living in a home in Leeds since 1998. His remains were found June 14 when an acquaintance asked the police to conduct a welfare check because Perkins had not been seen or heard from in a while.

He was found in the bedroom at 3:45 p.m.

At the time Perkins’ remains were found, authorities say there was no water or electricity in the house.

Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates says there’s no sign of foul play, but an investigation continues.

Anyone with information about Perkins’ family is asked to call Yates’ office at 205-930-3603.
