JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. – Investigators are trying to determine who killed a mother and her two children inside a Jefferson County home. They’re also trying to find the family’s father.

A concerned relative called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office Sunday evening after not being able to get in touch with the family all weekend. That relative met another family member at the home and got in before deputies got there. The deputies forced their way into the home when they got there.

The bodies of all three were inside the home, each had been shot.

According to our news partners at AL.com, the bodies were found in different rooms of the home. They also report someone had “destroyed” the home, but didn’t take anything.

The husband was not at the home, and hasn’t yet been located. The family’s silver Dodge Stratus is also missing.

Relatives say they can’t see him committing this crime.
