MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – The southbound lanes of I-65 are still shut down due to a wreck on the bridge over the Tennessee River.  Traffic is backed up for several miles, and the backup has snaked onto I-565, all the way back to Greenbriar Road.

Please find an alternate route if you are headed that way.  We’ll have a live report on the situation on WHNT News 19 at 5:00 p.m.

A semi truck wrecked, but we understand the driver wasn’t hurt.  No other vehicles were involved.

The wreck happened before 3 p.m.  The southbound lanes are still closed, because the wreck damaged the side of the bridge.
