WHNT News 19 Receives Nine Midsouth Emmy Nominations

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – WHNT News 19 is proud to announce that our family has just received nine Nashville/Midsouth Regional Emmy award nominations from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Our nominees are as follows:

1.       Investigative Series – The Plumber – Carrie Marchese and Shane Hays

2.       Specialty Assignment Report – Smoke Detector Fail – Carrie Marchese and Shane Hays

3.       Weather – Before the Storm – Tiffany Golden, Jason Simpson, Claire Aiello, Lee Marshall, Sam Lott, and Jennifer Watson

4.       Public Affairs – Boys & Girls Club – David Wood, Daniela Perallon, Matt Kroschel, Jerry Hayes, Clarissa McClain, and Dion Hose

5.       Community Service – Kids to Love – Lee Marshall

6.       Director/News – David Terry

7.       Video journalist – David Wood

8.       Photographer/Short Form – Brad Thompson

9.       Writing/Short Form – Becky Shores

WHNT News 19 is the only station in the Huntsville market to receive Emmy nominations this year.  The Nashville/Midsouth chapter is comprised of stations in North Carolina, Tennessee and north Alabama.

The Emmy award winners will be announced during a gala in Nashville on January 25, 2014.
