HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) --  Work outside the office and think outside the box. That idea is now possible thanks to downtown Huntsville's first co-working space.

It's for business professionals, entrepreneurs, and those just seeking a good cup of coffee and a quiet place to work. VIBE is the newest place for professionals to enjoy the smooth jazz and cool ambiance on the courthouse square.

"This is a very unique, sort of a hybrid of meshing an executive lounge with a co-working space," said Jonathan Pease. Pease said he saw a need for the upwardly mobile professionals, the ones who didn't have a place to call their own but needed a spot to relax and congregate.

"You can sit back, get comfortable with a pillow and work like this," said Amanda Dorsett as she positioned a study pillow on her lap, perfect for a computer to rest on.

"I wanted this to be that place that would give you a really great cup of coffee without waiting in line and give you the space and the accouterments that you need to get on really good Wifi, get your work done, get that wireless printing," said Pease.

VIBE has a lounge-like atmosphere and modern decor. Developers say it's going to offer the downtown area something like it's never seen before. "I want to see people networking, people gathering together like entrepreneurs, people that can meet one another while they're working, bounce ideas off one another," said Dorsett.

Everything has been thought of right down to the little detail. There's super speedy internet, plenty of charging spaces, comfortable chairs, and a relaxing atmosphere to work in.

"It's going to be your home away from home, your office away from office."

The starting rate at VIBE will be $6 per hour. The cost of coffee is included in that fee.

However, day, week and monthly costs have yet to be determined. The space will be open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting will be held June 17 starting at 5 p.m.
