MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Two people were injured in a motorcycle crash involving an 18-wheeler just south of Hazel Green on Monday.

The crash happened at the intersection of Grimwood Road and US 231/431 just after 2 p.m., according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA). An ALEA official told News 19 that the motorcycle struck the 18-wheeler.

HEMSI spokesperson Don Webster told News 19 after the crash that the motorcycle driver and passenger, one adult and one person under 18, were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

ALEA later identified those patients as a 35-year-old Huntsville man and a 10-year-old child. An update on the patients’ conditions was not available at the time.

The investigation is still underway by ALEA State Troopers.
