HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) – The world’s largest mobile pet adoption event will roll into Huntsville Thursday.

The North Shore Animal League’s Tour for Life bus will be at Huntsville Animal Services Thursday, April 2 from noon until 6pm.

The North Shore Animal League, which is based out of New York, is touring the country to raise awareness for pet adoption.

The Huntsville visit will bring a party atmosphere to the facility at 4950 Triana Boulevard with free hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn.

Of course, there will also be plenty of animals up for adoption.  For this special event, all available large dogs are free.  Barn cats may also be adopted at no cost.

While these adoptions will be free, the animals still come with all the benefits of a full-priced adoption including rabies vaccination, spay or neuter, license, tag and collar.

Here are the adoption fees for all other animals:
  • $35 small and medium-sized breed adult dogs
  • $50 puppies (6 months and younger)
  • $35 adult cats
  • $50 kittens (none available at this time)

If you’re not sure whether you’re ready to adopt, fostering opportunities are also available.
