HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police  say an 18-year-old is in custody for a shooting that happened March 14.  It turns out the suspect was actually shot in another incident a few days later.

Huntsville Police along with the United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force arrested Quintarius Lajerry Keith and charged him with first-degree assault.  He is charged in a shooting that happened March 14 in the 100 block of Mason Court. The victim in that incident is 14, and was shot in the leg.  Keith is being held in the Huntsville/Madison County Metro Jail on $100,000 bond.

Police say Keith was the victim of a drive-by shooting on March 17, when he was outside a house on Union Drive.  He had injuries to his face and abdomen.  Two people are charged with assault in that case, Brandon Javon Woods, 18, and Lamarcus Adams, 17.

Police say the shooting is related to a series of shootings that happened between March 13 and 15.  Investigators say the victims were uncooperative with police, hampering the cases from moving forward.  Arrests have been made in two of the cases, though, and more updates could come.
