HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Saturday afternoon will bring tons of information and local legislators to the VBC in Huntsville. David Pinkleton with the South Huntsville Civic Association says the 2nd Amendment event will be family oriented and educational.
Pinkleton says that those attending the event will learn about the 2nd Amendment, what protections exist for Alabama residents, and what representatives expect to see out of Washington D.C. in the coming weeks.
“We want people to learn what the history is behind it,” said Pinkleton. “Why do we have the 2nd Amendment, and why is it necessary to the preservation of a free state?”
There are several big names on the speaker line-up including Congressman Mo Brooks, Senator Paul Sanford, and many others will be there to answer questions from Tennessee Valley residents.
“These legislators are going to answer questions regarding 2nd Amendment issues,” said Pinkleton. “They will describe the permitting process and what the state of Alabama can do to be a firewall to anything coming down from D.C.”
“Our 2nd Amendment” will be held Saturday, February 23rd at the VBC North Hall. The Pre-Show starts at 1 p.m. and the Program will begin at 2 p.m. General admission is free and open to the public.
