HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Hospital officials say they increased security at the child care center Monday after someone reportedly made a threat against a hospital employee.

The threat came from an out-of-state family member, and was directed at the hospital employee, who has a child in the Child Care Center.

Burr Ingram, Vice President of Communications and Marketing, said Huntsville Hospital immediately notified Huntsville Police and other out-of-state authorities where the person lives.

The hospital locked down the child care center and put other security precautions in place, including adding more Huntsville police officers.

“We are notifying the parents of all children we care for,” said Ingram.  “In light of the events of the past few days in our nation, we wanted to make them aware of the situation immediately.”
