HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) has identified a man killed after an officer-involved shooting incident in Huntsville.

ALEA has identified the man as Christopher Robin Osborne, 49. The Bureau said that Osborne was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) said officers responded to a domestic violence call in the 2100 block of Chadburn Drive not long after midnight on Saturday. ALEA said that the incident occurred at Sockwell Drive SW and Chadburn Drive

The department said while officers were trying to make contact with a reportedly armed person, that person was shot and killed.

HPD reported that no officers were injured during the shooting.

HPD said it has requested the SBI lead the investigation into the incident, per department protocol.

ALEA said findings from the investigation will be turned over to the Madison County District Attorney’s Office once it is complete.
