HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The 7th Annual Safe Summer Festival is set for Thursday, June 19th in Huntsville. The event is put on by the Boys and Girls Clubs of North Alabama. More than 1,000 children are expected to attend and that means a lot of adult supervision is required.

Harold Weatherly is the Operations Support Director for the North Alabama chapter. While some volunteers have come forward, he says more are needed. Weatherly asks anyone interested in helping to please call (256)-534-6060.

The festival will be from 10 am until 2 pm on the grounds outside WEUP Radio. The station is located at 2609 Jordan Lane in Huntsville. Local police, firefighters, paramedics and other first responders will be on hand to interact with the children. There will also be food, games and activities. Children need not be members of a Boys & Girls Club to attend.
