HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--Revolution Flight School is now open for business at the Huntsville International Airport. They specialize in discovery flights, and flight and pilot training among other things that take you to the sky.

They're excited to land in Huntsville, because they said this city is perfect for this kind of thing. Paul Rossouw is the owner and operator of Revolution Flight School. As a veteran parachute regiment soldier, he knows a thing or two about flying, and wants to bring that knowledge to the Tennessee Valley.

"Basically make flying as accessible as possible to anybody in the area," said Rossouw.

Rossouw said the most common misconception about learning to fly, is that it's hard.

"Flying is fun! The initial reaction of people when you say do you want to go fly an airplane is oh my gosh that sounds incredibly daunting, it's actually very easy and very accessible, with a little bit of training, um, it doesn't take a whole lot," he said.

In fact, you could take the wheel by yourself in as a little as ten hours. General Manager Chris Burns said he's seen flight training take four months, to four years.

"Well it's really at your discretion, if you want to do it quickly, and the more you fly the better off you are," he said.

Both pilots said that once you get a chance to see what it's like up there, you never want to stop.

"Leonardo Da'vinci said that once you have tasted flight, you will stand on the ground and look up skyward again because that's where you've been before, and that's where you long to be again," said Burns.

Revolution Flight School is open to anybody, but you have to be at least 16 years old to participate in flight training. For anyone interested in signing up, you can Revolution Flight's website.
