HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Police are investigating after a woman and two children were found dead inside a home in southeast Huntsville.

The home is in the 11000 block of Crestfield Drive, off Mountain Gap Road.

Police say a family member returned home and found the bodies of 35-year-old Connie Foster, 10-year-old Layla House, and 8-year-old David House. Officers say Foster is the mother of Layla and David.

Investigators are working to determine the official cause of death, but say at this time it appears to be a murder-suicide. Authorities say there were no visible signs of wounds.

“I think a family member got here and actually removed them from one portion of the house out to the garage,” said Lt. Stacy Bates.

Police are staying tight-lipped as they investigate the situation further.

“Nothing is off the table, we don’t want to assume anything at this point,” said Lt. Bates.
