POLICE: Armed man robs local Boy Scout collecting parking money downtown

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)– Local Boy Scouts are a fixture in the downtown area. They can often be seen collecting parking money during large events at the VBC by using local private parking lots in the evening.

But Friday night, Huntsville Police officers said someone robbed a young scout of the parking money he was collecting.

The robbery happened near the intersection of Clinton and Monroe.

Police say the unknown man had a handgun. The robber took off on foot.

There were no injuries reported and the case remains under investigation.
