Pilot makes “unscheduled landing” at Redstone Arsenal’s airfield

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala.  — Redstone officials say a single engine civilian aircraft operated by a private pilot made an unscheduled, unintentional landing at Redstone Arsenal’s airfield at 10:21 a.m. Friday.

The aircraft landed without incident.

Redstone officials are working with the Federal Aviation Administration Flight Standards District Office in Birmingham to determine the circumstances that led to the error.

The aircraft will depart Redstone Arsenal airfield today, officials said.

The Arsenal didn’t release further details.
