MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Authorities confirm one person was killed in a crash involving a Hino truck and another vehicle on Moores Mill Road and Eakin Road.

HEMSI officials said Kristin E. Masterski, 43, of Hazel Green, was pronounced dead on the scene. Emergency crews assessed the others involved at the scene but no one else appeared to be seriously injured.

According to a statement from the Madison County Schools (MCSS), Masterski was a social worker with the school system.

“Our hearts are saddened to learn of the passing of Mrs. Kristin Masterski, a Madison County School System Social Worker serving the Hazel Green family of schools,” said a MCSS spokesperson. “Mrs. Masterski was an outstanding employee who selflessly helped others when given the opportunity. She gave her heart to her students and families and will be truly missed by many.”

The crash happened around 11 a.m. on Monday.

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency troopers are investigating the crash. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the crash.
