HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Multiple crews were called to a house fire late Sunday morning.
Huntsville Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire in the 3000-block of Crescent Circle just after 11:45 a.m. Sunday.
District Fire Chief Mark Clouser said the back garage was completely on fire when crews arrived.
With wind coming off the mountain, crews were worried the house was going to catch on fire as well.
Luckily, crews were able to keep the fire contained to the garage and master bedroom.
However, crews were putting foam on the debris as a precaution, saying wind could start the fire again.
The homeowner had three pets. The cat made it out, but two dogs didn’t.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but Clouser thinks it started in the garage, and an open door created a fireplace effect, fanning the flames into other areas of the house.
Crews expected the area to remain blocked until around 2:30 p.m.
