MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – Thursday evening during the Huntsville City Council meeting, leaders from the not-for-profit county mental health center announced some major changes coming soon.

Beginning Oct. 1, the Mental Health Center of Madison County will start using the name “WellStone Behavioral Health.”  The organization’s Chief Executive Officer Brian Davis says the new logo and name will hopefully help attract more people to come seek help.

“Research shows that two-thirds of the people who need help do not get it and the biggest reason is the stigma that comes along with seeking help,” Davis says.

The group served nearly nine thousand people last year. They are a not-for-profit organization that receives tax money and grants to operate. The organization has an operating budget of  about 14-million dollars.
