LIMESTONE COUNTY. (WHNT) – The trial for former Madison police officer William Watson has been continued to November 18, according to the Limestone County officials.

Watson has been charged with  first-degree sexual abuse.

On August 13, 2012, investigators with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office alerted Madison Police about the case, who immediately put Watson on administrative leave.

Captain Stanley McNatt with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said the victim in the case is a juvenile female.  He said there could be more victims, and more charges could come after the grand jury reviews the case.

McNatt did not go into more specifics.

Watson is no longer a member of the police force, having resigned his post during the official investigation.
