MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) — Madison Police are asking for the public’s help to find the person who they say hit a bicyclist early Monday morning on Madison Boulevard.

The bicyclist, 20-year-old Richard Claus, is in the hospital with several broken bones and facial cuts.

The collision happened at approximately 3:30 a.m.  Claus was riding his bike west on Madison Boulevard between Research Boulevard and Hughes Road.  Police say the driver hit the person and kept going.

Police say Claus was riding from Carrington Cove Apartments to Walmart on Madison Boulevard.

Police say the vehicle that hit Claus likely has damage to the left front and possible damage to the windshield.  They don’t have a description of the vehicle, though.

If you have any information about who the driver is, or the vehicle, please call Madison Police at (256) 722-7190.

Claus is being treated at Huntsville Hospital.  Police say he is listed in fair condition.
