Madison man charged with electronic solicitation of a child

MADISON, Ala. – A Madison man was arrested Thursday on one count of electronic solicitation of a child.

Justin David Beatty, 25, was arrested at a residence on Royal Dr. in Madison as the result of an ongoing investigation. Madison police say Beatty is accused fo soliciting a child under the age of 16 to send nude pictures of themselves over the Internet.

Beatty was taken to the Madison County Jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

He was previously arrested in 2012 for possession of child pornography. In that case, Beatty was allowed by the courts to enter a pretrial intervention program established for first time, non-violent offenders. The program is intended for people charged with a crime to take responsibility, enter a rehabilitation program, and pay restitution to victims.
