Deputies with Madison County Sheriff's Office charged four men with murder. Timothy Jabbar Smith, 30, Robert Eugene Kirkpatrick Davis, 25, Jamie Ladae Kelly, 23, and Savontae Terrell Shoulders, 21, are all behind bars.
Each of them has a $75,000 bond. They are accused of killing Marlo Casell Patton.
Markings on Slaterock Mill Road and a tree show where Lincoln County, Tennessee investigators found Patton's body.
Sources say the 36-year-old man was found partially clothed in a ditch. Folks who live in the area of Slaterock Mill Road in Kirkland say they saw deputies in the road around noon Saturday.
Madison County Sheriff's deputies picked up the case. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities revealing few details so far, including how or why Marlo Patton was killed.
"Right now there's not a lot we're releasing due to the sensitivity of the case," said Madison County Sheriff's Investigator Brent Patterson. "The motive right now we're not going to release, and also the cause of death, we're not going to release...There's always witnesses to every crime, and being able to get out to them and locate them is extremely beneficial for our case, and that's what we are doing right now."
WHNT NEWS 19 did some digging to find out more about Patton. We've learned Patton lived at Westlake Apartments.
Neighbors tell WHNT NEWS 19 someone beat, shot and stabbed Patton inside his apartment on Friday.
One of them said they saw a car go behind the apartment and watched people load Patton's body into its trunk.
Patton's family told WHNT NEWS 19 they did not want to comment at this time.
Patton's funeral is set for Sunday, April 29 at the Blackburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. The church is located on Plummer Road in Huntsville. The service starts at 2:00 p.m.
