The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident at the request of the Madison Police Department.

Madison Police say the shooting happened after officers responded to a domestic disturbance call on Hunington Chase Drive, just off County Line Road.

Officers say the man alleged to have been involved drove by while officers were on the scene.  They followed him to the end of the road.

That’s when police say they heard a gunshot coming from the vehicle.  Police say officers returned fire then found the man had shot himself.
