MADISON, Ala. – Madison Police want to warn drivers to be aware while driving near the city stadium this evening. Traffic will be particularly high as the Bob Jones Patriots face off against the James Clemens Jets tonight for the “Madison Bowl.”
Police ask those attending the game to avoid parking on roadsides in areas that will impede the flow of traffic. They mention Shorter Street, located behind the stadium, specifically.
Officials expect thousands to attend the game, so ask motorists to also pay especially close attention to pedestrians in the area.
Tonight’s game is Military Appreciation Night. There will be no fireworks as in years past.
After the game is over, officers will restrict traffic leaving the stadium. Those exiting the north end of the parking lot will be directed north on Celtic Drive to Will Halsey Way. Traffic exiting the south end of the parking lot will be directed south to Madison Blvd.
The game kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
