HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - We're still about two months away from Christmas, but Lockheed Martin employees and community members are working to make sure our military members serving abroad have a good holiday.

Wednesday, the company partnered with United Service Organizations (USO) to work ahead and prepare care packages with holiday snacks, decorations, costumes, activities, movies and friendly greetings.

"Months and months of preparation goes into this event," said Lockheed Martin employee, Kinsey Lindstrom.

This act once a year is a simple way to 'thank you.'

"It's easy to say thank you for your service, but by packing these boxes and donating our time and sending these overseas for the winter holiday, we actually get to show them how thankful we are and grateful for their sacrifice for our country," said Lindstrom.

We'll have more on their efforts this evening in our newscasts on WHNT News 19.
