Large Power Outage Hits Western Huntsville and Northern Madison

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A large power outage has hit the western part of Huntsville and northern part of Madison, running from Cummings Research Park to Wall Triana.

Drivers are advised to use extreme caution while driving and to treat all intersections as four-way stops.

A power outage also hit the area of Mooresville Rd.south of U.S. 72 to Huntsville-Browns Ferry Rd and east to Burgreen Rd.  Power was restored to this area.  It’s unclear as to if this outage was related to the others.

Athens Utilities Customer Relations Manager Amy Golden said a breaker tripped at French’s Mill Substation, leaving 1,144 without power for 42 minutes.
