HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Hospital announced the testing site at John Hunt Park reached capacity Tuesday.

350 tests were allotted Tuesday and the site reached capacity just before 10:45 a.m.

Cars blocked traffic on Monday, and Tuesday morning, a similar situation happened again. Huntsville Hospital Senior Vice President Tracy Doughty said, after today, he expects the following days to be the same.

“The amount of tests we do depends on the supply,” said Doughty. “So as you can imagine, across the country, everybody in the country is increasing their demand for testing so we’re just trying to get a good allocation to the best we can.”

The John Hunt Park free testing site opens 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. everyday through Friday. This location is for individuals who are not experiencing COVID symptoms. Hospital officials said they’re speaking with suppliers to keep up with the demand for more testing.
