Huntsville’s ‘Rocket Chef’ challenge to benefit Food Bank, Merrimack Hall

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Do you like to cook? Here’s a night where you can see some of the area’s best chefs put their skills to the test against each other.  You might learn some new tricks but most of all, you’ll be impressed by their talent.


rocket_chef300‘Rocket Chef: A Clash of the Culinary Titans’ will be held Monday, November 10 at Merrimack Hall. A VIP reception begins at 6 p.m. and the competition begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at


Rocket Chef is based on popular and contemporary food television challenges, and will showcase local chefs from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. Their cooking ability will be tested in a time-pressured environment using “mystery” ingredients. All of this will take place on a stage in front of a live audience of nearly 300 people and three well respected culinary judges!

The competitors are Tom Chapman of Nick's Ristorante, Shawn Duvall of The Peppered Pig, Andy Howery of The Bottle and Merle Phillip of The Eaves.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Food Bank of North Alabama and Merrimack Hall's Johnny Stallings Arts Program, both 501(c)(3) organizations.

This event is presented by Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Connect Class 17.
