HAMACON Is This Weekend At VBC

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The 4th Annual Huntsville/Madison Anime Convention, known as HAMACON, is at the VBC today through Sunday (May 31 – June 2).

HAMACON is a celebration for fans of anime and cartoons, featuring events for all ages.  The event is open to the public, with weekend passes costing $40.

The convention will feature special guests, interactive games, voice actors, costume contests, live music, special guest panels, video game tournaments, a rave, and the opportunity to meet new people from the area and across the US that also love anime!

There will be programming for attendees who are new to anime, as well as those who are looking to discuss their favorite characters or series. There will also be programming for parents who have questions about anime.

The convention begins on May 31 at noon, with events scheduled until midnight until both Friday and Saturday.

The Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau estimates that HAMACON will bring $24,000 in direct spending to the economy.
