HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Huntsville Police are remembering Officer Eric Freeman today. On this date eight years ago, December 14, 2007, Freeman was shot while investigating a traffic accident.

One of the drivers involved in the wreck on Bailey Cove Road shot Freeman.

Huntsville Police says they are remembering the sacrifice Officer Freeman made in service to the community, just as they do everyday.

Freeman left behind a wife and children. Huntsville Police are asking for everyone to keep the family in their thoughts and prayers.
