HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A Huntsville bank robbery suspect was arrested in Iuka, Mississippi on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.

The robbery call came in around 11:15 a.m. to the Truist Bank, located at 4955 University Drive, according to the Huntsville Police Department (HPD).

A spokesperson for HPD said Scott Tyner was arrested in connection to the incident by authorities in Tishomingo County, MS. “He is believed to be our robbery suspect and will face a robbery charge from Huntsville Police,” the spokesperson said.  

Tishomingo County is around 2 hours west of Huntsville.

The Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Department (TCSD) said a vehicle matching the description of one connected to the robbery was spotted around 1 p.m. leaving a Walmart in Iuka, Miss.

Tyner, 50, of Arkansas was taken into custody after a brief pursuit. According to TCSD, Tyner is wanted in multiple states and jurisdictions.
