Huntsville Police Identify Monticello Drive Shooting Victim

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville Police have identified the shooting victim involved in a deadly shooting that happened just before 10:00 p.m. Monday.

Police say 27-year-old John Kenneth Colvin was shot and killed during a robbery attempt.

According to investigators, two men pulled up to a home in the 2700 block of Monticello Drive and tried to rob three men.  One of the victims had a gun and fired on the suspected robbers, killing Colvin.  The second man got away in an older model white sedan.

One of the victims has a gunshot wound to the ankle.  That person was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

Huntsville Police say Colvin has more than 80 run-ins with law enforcement.
